Dear Co-laborers in the Great Commission, Shalom! Thank you for keeping us and our ministry in your prayers! There is so much going on with us in the home front and as well as in the ministry. Our family trip to the South Sudan is set for November 10th to December1fst. We are busy homeschooling our children. It is also our great joy to announce to you that my wife, Hannah, is expecting baby Levi #7! Lord willing, the baby will be born in early 2018! God is so good!

From Gordon ONMI Mission Compound, Food growing in the Rocky Soil

The Islamic world at one time coined South Sudan as "the bread basket of Arab world." They understood something about the potential of South Sudan that South Sudanese didn't, even after God had miraculously given us the country. Our people have not yet fully grasped the concept of this fabulous country being considered as "bread basket for Arab world" by an adversary who sought to take it by force from us and failed.

When we established our third mission compound on Gordon Mountain (a rugged terrain sitting on a 2800ft rocky plateau overlooking Nimule town), we never thought anything could grow up there. But we were mistaken. God proved us wrong. In March 2017 when we were staying up there with our radio broadcasting staff, we found ourselves constantly buying food as simple as tomatoes, green vegetables, chicken, and eggs from Nimule's open air Market and they were quite expensive. One day, God opened our eyes to see the richness of the rocky soil after seeing that a couple of peanuts seeds that had fallen on the ground, sprout up and grew on their own in the rocky soil. They showed a promising sign of yielding a lot.

So, following that revelation, we went and got two chickens (a male and female), tomato seeds, and watermelons, mango, orange, and guava trees and planted them in the compound. We left our ground radio staff attending to them as we headed back to the States.

Just couple of days ago, we received a food production report from Robert Amoko (the station manager of NTC 97.3FM on Gordon compound) thanking our children for starting the chicken project and planting the watermelon.

The results: The chickens have reproduced themselves and multiplied, they now have chickens for meat and eggs as well. The trees are growing exponentially! Soon we will have mangos, oranges and guava fruit. The tomatoes have grown and yielded much fruit. The staff don't need to buy tomatoes from the market. The watermelon produced a lot of fruit! The staff have been feeding on it and quenching their thirst.

From The Beth Israel Farmland and Borongole Mission headquarters - Tombe Isaac Report

Last week, our assistant country director Tombe Isaac shared with us the effort that our ground team is exerting in their commitment in the Beth Israel farmland, the Borongole mission headquarters, and Gordon Mountain. They are working to create both physical and spiritual stability for the remaining Christian families in Pageri County, Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan. Today he has sent more pictures in the area of the agricultural initiative that has been going during in the Beth Israel farmland during the rainy season. Food security is one of the key solutions urgently needed in the South Sudan to address the national crisis in the country due to food shortage.

This year, in the rainy season 2017, we are witnessing the growth of cassava, peanuts, sorghum, legumes, corns, beans, fruits, sweet potatoes etc. We are praying and hoping to stamp out hunger and be able to feed the families of our entire staff without the need to purchase food from the local market. This vision falls within our desire to disciple one person, one family, and one church at a time.

Inflation in South Sudan and the paradox of South Sudanese refugees

Did you know that inflation in South Sudan has skyrocketed through the roof of this nation? Did you know that the exchange rate for $100USD is now 20,000 SSP while the average income for 99% of South Sudanese is the equivalence of $5USD a month? Did you know that the shortage of food is one of the factors driving hundreds of thousands of South Sudanese into refuge? Did you know that South Sudanese can be "refugees" in the camps without actually leaving South Sudan, because this is the only way they can support their family (they can actually sign up as refugees in order to get the UN food ration while not actually living in the camps)? Can you believe this needless desperation of our people?

On other hand, by the Grace of God, we are educating families to return home to their own villages and cultivate their own food in their own farmland instead of being used by the UN as a statistic to keep the cycle of poverty going on and on. Today if you read this report, please pray for us in Operation Nehemiah as we encourage families to work with their own hands. Today, we have received some good news that 7 women and children have joined their husbands in Borongole and Beth Israel Farm to take part in weeding the fields that are already planted with crops for better yield at the end of the season in 2017!

Construction and development are going right up on Gordon Mountain, which is the third mission compound of Operation Nehemiah Mission in Nimule, Pageri County South Sudan. Timothy Levi reports.

Our dedicated staff needs housing, water and medical facility in order to carry on with mission God has called them to do. By the grace of God, we now have the availability of water and we are putting up the first residential building! It will house our assistant country director Tombe Isaac and his future wife Katherine Saunders .

We want to thank God for all our donors for making this initiative possible. This is the product of your financial donations and prayers. Thank God for the availability of water which He has provided literally out of the rock for his children who are toiling day and night, spreading the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah over the airwaves of South Sudan, and Uganda through Nehemiah Trumpet Call 97.3 FM to bring many souls to Yeshua.

When South Sudan erupted in a terrible national Crisis in July, 2016, leading to a lot of uncertainty and challenges, we went on our knees in prayer before God Almighty to strengthen our arms so that His mission in South Sudan will go forward without interruption.

There are still thousands of people living in Nimule town without Salvation, water, or food. God is looking upon them with pity. We are reading the Bible and hearing His voice and we are convicted as Yeshua is saying, the harvest is ready, but the laborers are few. So we submit to God in obedience to stay the course of the Great Commission in the South Sudan.

From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.4Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.5The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore." Psalms 121.
