ONMI's Mission Field Report from South Sudan

Shalom to you my co-laborers in the Great Commission. On behalf of ONMI and our ground staff we want to thank you for standing with us and lifting our hand to continue in rebuilding effort of the lives of the brethren who have returned from exile and recovering from the ashes of war and displacement in the republic of South Sudan. " So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:10

Living by Example: Inspiring Faith and Sustainability in Our Community

At the home front Sarah and I are working and serving God's people and doing the mission work out here living by example. We are living here with the people and inspiriting them to embraced God with fervent heart and support the effort of sustainability and making commitment to live within their means for the long term. Hebrews 10:24 "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works."

Empowering South Sudan Through Faith and Local Enterprise

One of the examples of serving God's people here in South Sudan is by using our lives as example by spending the most of our time in prayers seeking God for wisdom and direction how to do meaningful work to sustain ourselves, We are changing the way how people are used to live here by making local bread, coffee and natural herbal supplement with products readily round us and some are purchased from local market.

"Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause." Isaiah 1:17

Heartfelt Gratitude and Hope for Family Reunification

My wife message to our US Benefactors is nothing but appreciation. As Messianic family, Serving Gods' people here in South Sudan, we are walking by faith not by sight. Your sustained support and encouragement to us make it all the more to believe and stand on God's promises which never fail.

She told me to convey a message of her appreciation to all of you who are praying for us and supporting our effort here on the ground. South Sudan is a new country with a lot of challenges with greater opportunities than what you hear on the news. She would love to come with me to the USA as soon as the US Homeland Security approves and finalizes on Spouse and Family reunion visa to join me in the USA as much as she is needed as my help maid to be on that side as much as on this side. But her heart desire is to serve and move our family and ministry vision of ONMI forward here in South Sudan where you have spent countless effort and seriousness to help us transform South Sudan for the Glory of God. Food and materials are quite costly here since everything is imported from Uganda. However, we aim to restore balance by focusing on productivity rather than just consumerism.

Prayer Requests for Our Move to Beth Irael Farmland

As a home maker preparing to move with me to our new home in the Beth Israel farmland that She would you like you to lift us in prayers for two important needs:

1- We need a dependable vehicle for Transporation between the main road and the Beth Israel Farmland which is very difficult to cross during rainy season. We need $15,000 for this initiative to obtain 4x4 land cruiser for that purpose.

2- She needs us to open a small grocery shop for $7000 where we can make local bread, a coffee shop and natural herbal supplement. All products will be locally raised, and the products will cut down on imported items from Uganda.

From the Ministry's point of view, there are various activities happening simultaneously on various fronts, but not without serious challenges and setbacks.

Bethlehem Nursery and Primary Academy Begins First Term Examinations

For instance, in the realm of Education, Bethlehem Nursery and Primary Academy has already commenced its academic year on February 4th, 2025. This week marks a significant milestone as the students are currently sitting for their first term examinations, a crucial period that will assess their understanding and retention of the subjects taught thus far. As they navigate through this challenging phase, we humbly request your prayers and support for their success and well-being.

In a commendable effort to uplift the community, ONMI is sponsoring 43 students who come from impoverished families, out of a total student body of 250. This initiative is vital, as it aims to provide these children with access to quality education that they might not otherwise afford. To facilitate this, a total of $6,000 is urgently needed to cover their first-time school fees.

The allocation of these funds will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall learning environment at the academy. Specifically, part of the financial support will be directed towards improving electricity lighting in classrooms, which is essential for students who study at night. Adequate lighting is crucial for their academic performance, as it allows them to engage with their studies effectively and complete their homework without straining their eyes.

Additionally, the funds will be utilized to upgrade dormitory conditions, ensuring that students have a safe and comfortable place to rest and study. Comfortable living conditions can significantly impact a student's ability to focus and perform academically. Furthermore, the financial assistance will address pressing sanitation needs, which are vital for maintaining the health and hygiene of all students. Clean and safe facilities are essential for fostering a conducive learning environment and promoting the overall well-being of the children.

In summary, the ongoing efforts at Bethlehem Nursery and Primary Academy, supported by ONMI, are not just about providing education but also about creating a holistic environment where students can thrive. Your support and prayers are invaluable as we work together to ensure that these children receive the opportunities they deserve for a brighter future.

Empowering Through Education: NPI Vocational Training Launches with Scholarship Support

NPI Vocational training has officially commenced today, marking an important milestone in our commitment to empowering individuals through education and skill development. This term, we are pleased to welcome 12 dedicated students who have been awarded scholarships, specifically chosen from impoverished backgrounds, out of a total of 23 enrolled participants in the program. These scholarships represent a significant opportunity for these individuals, as they often face considerable financial barriers that hinder their ability to access quality vocational training. We are proud to support these students as they embark on a journey to acquire essential skills that will enhance their employability and ultimately improve their quality of life.

However, as we celebrate this new beginning, we are also reaching out to our community for support. In order to provide the best possible training experience, we urgently need additional funding to purchase more computers and vehicles, which are crucial for the effective delivery of our curriculum and for facilitating transportation for our students to reach the training center. The current scholarship fund stands at $4200 per term, but the demand for resources continues to grow as we aim to expand our program and accommodate more students in need. Your prayers and financial support are vital in helping us achieve these goals and ensuring that we can continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

Enhancing Agricultural Sustainability with Dry Season Drip Irrigation at Beth Israel Farmland

ONMI has embarked on an innovative initiative to implement dry season drip irrigation at the Beth Israel Farmland for the year 2025. This strategic move aims to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability, particularly during the challenging dry season when water scarcity can severely impact crop yields. The drip irrigation system is designed to deliver water directly to the roots of the plants, ensuring that each crop receives the optimal amount of moisture while minimizing water waste. This method not only conserves water but also promotes healthier plant growth, leading to more robust harvests. As we undertake this vital project, we recognize the importance of community support and spiritual encouragement.

Therefore, we earnestly request your prayers for the success of this initiative. Your prayers will not only uplift our spirits but also contribute to the overall well-being of our farming community. We believe that with collective faith and support, we can overcome the challenges posed by the dry season and achieve our goal of sustainable farming practices that benefit both the land and the people who depend on it. Together, we can make a significant impact on our agricultural landscape and ensure a brighter future for all involved.

Advancing the Great Commission: Building the Kehillah Community in South Sudan and Northern Uganda

Kehillah Church planting and advancing the mission of the Great Commission in South Sudan and northern Uganda is a vital endeavor that seeks to spread the message of Yeshua and foster spiritual growth in these regions. Our outreach efforts are focused on establishing a strong community known as the Kehillah, which translates to "assembly" or "congregation," of believers who are dedicated to following the teachings of the Messiah. The Nile Beth Israel Messiah Kehillah is experiencing remarkable growth, which is a testament to the dedication of our members and the power of the Gospel in transforming lives.

Expanding Kehillah: Building Community and Spiritual Support in South Sudan and Northern Uganda

One of our most significant success stories has been the expansion of the Kehillah within military barracks, where we have been able to connect with service members and their families. This outreach has not only provided spiritual support to those who serve but has also created a unique opportunity for fellowship and community building in an environment that often lacks such connections. Additionally, our efforts have extended into northern Uganda, where we are actively planting new congregations and nurturing existing ones.

Recently, we completed the construction of a new meeting hall in the Ngogwa barracks. This facility will serve as a central hub for worship, teaching, and community activities, allowing us to better serve the spiritual needs of the soldiers and their families. The establishment of this hall is a significant milestone in our mission, as it provides a dedicated space for gatherings, prayer meetings, and other church-related activities.

Moreover, the pastor in the Buruli Kehillah is currently engaged in building their own Church, which reflects the growing commitment and involvement of local leaders in the mission. This initiative is not only about constructing a physical space; it represents the empowerment of local believers to take ownership of their spiritual growth and community engagement. The development of these facilities is crucial for fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging more individuals to participate in the life of the church.

As we continue to advance the Great Commission, our focus remains on nurturing discipleship, fostering community, and spreading the love of Yeshua throughout South Sudan and northern Uganda. The growth of our Kehillah is a powerful reminder of the impact that faith can have in transforming lives and communities, and we are excited about the future opportunities that lie ahead as we build upon this foundation.

The Vital Role of Beekeeping in Promoting Biodiversity and Sustainable Agriculture

We are also actively engaged in an entrepreneurial venture focused on beekeeping, which has proven to be both a rewarding and sustainable agricultural practice. In just these past few days, our dedicated agricultural team has successfully harvested an impressive total of at least 40 liters of raw organic honey. This achievement not only highlights our commitment to sustainable farming practices but also underscores the importance of bees in our ecosystem.

Beekeeping, or apiculture, is an essential component of our agricultural initiatives, as it promotes biodiversity and supports the pollination of various crops, ultimately leading to increased yields and healthier ecosystems. The raw organic honey we produce is a testament to our dedication to environmental stewardship and our desire to provide high-quality, natural products to our community.

We are immensely grateful for the support we have received on this initiative, which has been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals. Through this venture, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of bees and their role in our food systems, while also promoting sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and local economies. Thank you for standing by us as we continue to explore the fascinating world of beekeeping and its many benefits.
