Our reality turned upside down on 07.10.2023 - Amit Barak

Shalom to all my brethren in Yeshua. It has always been my desire and prayers to receive authentic updates on the situation in Israel directly from the Israelis themselves, rather than the biased narrative presented by the mainstream media. I am grateful to my dear friend Amit Barak for sharing a heartfelt letter that provides a firsthand account of the conflict initiated by Hamas Islamic terrorists in Gaza against Israel on October 7, 2023. We stand united in solidarity with him and Israel, resolute until Hamas is completely overcome. I sincerely hope and pray that Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government will not succumb to the double standards of the Biden

administration.

With Amit Barak's approval, I am privileged to pass on this message to you today. Towards the end of his letter, you will learn about the challenges faced by the families of Amit Barak and his brother, both serving in the ongoing battle to defeat Hamas. Their wives are bravely managing the home front, while their children are enduring the reality of growing up without their fathers for the past 8 months due to their commitment to defending Israel against hostile Islamic forces of Hamas, Palestinian Jihadist, Iranian backed Hezbollah Islamic terrorists from Lebanon and the Yemeni Islamic Houthis. Should you feel led to assist, ONMI is raising funds to support these two families with a target of $3000- $5000. Your online tax-deductible benevolent support for the Barak families can be made here Donate

Our reality turned upside down on 07.10.2023 - Amit Barak in His own words

Shalom,

As a friend and someone who I know that Israel is important to him, I would like to share a little about my feelings on what is happening in Israel.

I am writing the following from Metula, the old settlement in northern Israel on the Lebanese border.

I will soon finish the current reserve duty here for an additional 47 days that will be added to the 174 reserve days I have performed since 07.10. In Gaza, in Judea and Samaria and now on the border of Lebanon.

Our reality turned upside down on 07.10.

These are not easy days at all. The dangers to the future of the State of Israel and the People of Israel are many and growing. We see the enemies around us (Sunnis and Shiites alike) tightening the ring of threats against Israel with the help of Egypt and Jordan.

Since I was born over 47 years ago, there has not been such a dangerous situation with Lot's future in the fog. Even if there will be some kind of agreement in the north and the south it won't be the end. The Biden administration out of internal political needs simply wants us to surrender, that's what it sounds like and that's what it looks like. They can wrap it up in all kinds of beautiful and vague statements, but the meaning of a "cease-fire" now is simply a postponement of the situation, the postponement of the war, for a few months or a few years. But the war against an enemy that wants to literally destroy us, an enemy that is getting stronger, the war is inevitable.

I went to serve in the reserves to protect my country, my People and my family. But I want and have to be deadly, fight, win and make it clear to the enemy and the world that we cannot be eliminated. At the moment unfortunately we are not there.

This period also affects our families, all this long time our wives run the house, take care of the children and everything and still needs Al to take care of their work places. Two of my three children have recently developed symptoms of mental stress. Besides that, last week I lost my father who was for me the pillar of fire before the camp, who educated me together with my mother to what I am today. There was something symbolic about his death at this time. When I was born he was during a reserve duty in Hebron, when my brother was born he was in reserve training. When he passed away last week both my brother and I were (and still) on reserve duty, In the battalion that he was one of the founders of in 1968 and in which he served until 3 years ago. For over twenty years we served together, father, brother and I. We fought the Second Lebanon War in 2006 shoulder to shoulder while my sister was also in the army at that time in the Northern border. And also in the last war, Iron Swords my father came several times in uniform to help organize the equipment and to give lessons for the young guys about different weapons.

I really don't know what the future holds here, I do know that we need to be strong in spirit and material and be deadly, we'll leave morals for later. First, we must survive, destroy the enemy and win. There is no other choice.' Amit Barak

Thank you for joining us in this effort; we appreciate your prayers and support for Israel “We are doing great work on the Wall; why should we allow them to lure us to go down while the work stops? Nehemiah 6:3   There are Samballah, Tobia, and Geshem trying to stop the work for us. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. 8For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. Psalms 122; 6
